From 1 to 39

Three years ago next month we found ourselves after 20 years with an empty nest, with our 16 year old granddaughter living with us, and 3 months later her 18 year old sister arrived, then in June of 2023 we were thrilled to welcome our newborn great granddaughter. Last summer we had a grown granddaughter here for 4 months. This September our 39 year old granddaughter arrived to stay for awhile until she works through some physical challenges. When you add in our 10 and 8 year old granddaughters who come over every other week during the day it makes for a very full and rewarding experience that we wouldn’t trade for anything.

So, what started out as a blog about raising teens again has evolved into me being so busy that I’ve not had time to write in awhile but you can imagine all the adventures we have had. I had thought that my life had been fulfilling; it was actually boring compared to now!

The teens now have jobs, cars & boyfriends so they are in and out. I love watching the baby twice a week, The newest girl loves to cook, so she whips up a big pot of yummy soup every other day! Soon we will make tasty bagels, homemade marshmallows, s’mores, more cookies, and lots more cooking & baking & most importantly precious memories!

These unexpected chapters came upon us suddenly, which is a good thing, because if I had been told what was coming I would have freaked out with all kinds of imagined happenings, when in reality what is happening is 1000 % better than I would have imagined. Embrace the surprises in life. You will find amazing treasures. These truly are the very best of times.
