Teens, 20s & 30 somethings

I’ve been VERY busy the past few weeks, but it’s mostly fulfilling! We, along with excellent party planner daughter visiting from Cal hosted a baby shower for the 20 year old. It’s getting exciting! July will be a very busy month. She’s due July 8 but I thought it would be awesome to have a 4th of July baby! We will see. 😅 We will also be having more family visiting in July; our daughter from London, our oldest granddaughter from Cal & her three kids, our oldest great grandkids.

Oh, did I mention that our 32 year old traveling granddaughter had a change of plans and is staying with us for now? She’d been visiting many Asian countries & India, doing her art for 5 years etc.. She has two restaurant jobs starting this week, & will either start up an art studio here in Anchorage in the Fall or go back to Sri Lanka & start one there in 2024. She is a joy to have around and we hadn’t seen her in almost 5 years, but there was a bit of family politics happening with the 2 granddaughters that have been living with us for 1 1/2 years, but it’s settled down now. Change is challenging to say the least. Now all three girls work at restaurants. Can you say “Have fun finding room in the fridge for leftovers!”? Yum. We get to taste lots of cuisines.

Like I’ve said before, it feels strange to go from crazily busy from last August to this April with tons of school, sports & work activities, to basically just driving the 18 year old to work most days. The 20 year old has a car now & the 32 year old rides my bike everywhere, which I’m glad about because it was gathering dust. So now I’m the homemaker/home manager/ bill payer extraordinaire again, along with volunteering, watching the 8 & 6 year old every other week, and of course playing Pickleball 3 x a week!
This chapter will fly by so fast that I better not blink. Before we know it we will have an empty nest again & will be almost pining for the drama, messes, (although they have improved immensely) & the variety of activities going on with 3 girls. We are blessed. ❤️

  2. Dear Geri,
What a calling God has put on your life at this age! Yet, as He promised, “Faithful is He who has called you who also will do it” (1Thess. 5:24). What strength He is giving you, and what an inspiration to all those around you. May He continue to give you health, strength, courage, and perseverance as you do it all for Him. He will be glorified!
